26th November 2008, Mumbai , India ’s financial capital witnessed 10 simultaneous terrorist attacks. As the news reports are coming in, there are about a hundred dead including some foreign nationals. All except one of the attacks took place in South Mumbai, at the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station; two five-star hotels: the Oberoi Trident at Nariman Point, and Taj Mahal Palace & Tower near the Gateway of India; the Leopold Café, a popular tourist restaurant in Colaba; the Cama Hospital; at least three high-level officers, including chief of the Anti Terrorism Squad of Maharashtra, were killed by gunfire. A previously unknown organisation identifying itself as the Deccan Mujahideen claimed responsibility by email sent to news organizations. Some media reports have attributed these terrorist attacks to Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based Islamic militant group. This is an attempt by Pinstormers to help mumbaikars get all the information that they require at one place. We call it, “help mumbai”.

Google Finally explains about Links

Those of you who are knew into Search Engine Marketing and want to understand about links, then now is the chance to learn directly from Google itself. I have been learning about SEO from last 5 years but since no information was ever given by google, we mostly had to read from other experts.

But finally Google explains it all in their blog. Its a 4 part series where they explain different types of links in each article.

You can

Google is simply great

There are so many IT companies. Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, etc. But the only company that seems to be constantly improving in the fastest possible way seems to be Google followed by Yahoo.

Google recently launched a feature in Gmail that would prevent drunken emailing. LOL!. As funny as it sounds, people have to habbit of calling others when they are drunk and speak crap. With invention of email they also email others when they are drunk and regret later. The new maths feature activates only late nights on weekends because that’s when people are most drunk.

Check out more details about it at ->

One great Article

11 Ways to Market Your New Social Networking Website

ust building a feature-filled social networking site with a sound infrastructure is only the start of your website journey. Don’t fret, though, because it’s an exciting journey: social networking sites are the most visited area of the Internet. According to recent statistics from, social networking actually accounts for 11% of all web visits.

As expected, this popularity begets competition: competition to keep your site from resembling an online ghost town and competition to find and convert the right people for your particular niche.

The good news is that you don’t have to navigate the competitive waters on your own. We asked Chris Bennett, friend of Elance and social networking guru, for ways you can market your social networking website and stand out from the competition:

Apple Iphone in India. Finally!!

I had signed up for the Vodafone and Airtel Iphone stuff a month back to stay updated on it’s launch in India. I waited for this phone from so damn long, that I wonder if I had used this much patience in any other thing, it would had been worth it. Vadofone would be selling the 8GB phone at Rs. 31,000 and the 16Gb phone for Rs. 36,000.

If the price was same everywhere in the world, it would not had been much and the phone might feel worth it, but not when its been sold at around $200 (USD) in US and few other countries. As mentioned on the website this high price is to prevent it from becoming a mass-market product. I really don’t understand the logic. If that was the case, I wonder why Steve Jobs sold it for so low in other countries. India is a poor country or Rich i started to doubt it.

At this damn price, someone can get 3 phones from USA, ask someone to courier it to India for around $100 and then crack. If someone searches for Iphone cracks in google, the software could be easily found for under $25. With such a stupid pricing, many people will now make a living by getting cheap Iphones from US, cracking them and selling for more price.

I waited too long to get another phone, and would now search for other good options like HTC Touch which are cheaper.

Cuil: (pronounced as Cool) Another Search Engine

I found about this search engine couple of days ago, and wanted to write about it, but as usual, no time…

A new search engine was launched in July called Cuil. Like many other people, I too pronounced it as quill, kil, but it is correctly pronounced as Cool. More info can be found out from Cuil’s website. Many experts on Search Engines, like the all time famous “Danny Sullivan” have liked the concept of Cuil but not currently satisfied with it;s results.

Founded by ex-googlers and others, this search engine, would difinetely would be something to keep track of. I use google atleast 2 to 3 hours in a day in breaks. But to know about the result’s of Cuil, I decided to use it for a day instead of Google. I did drop the idea after afternoon, since after every search on Cuil, I had to go back and use google. So it was a waste of time. But this does not mean I would not use Cuil. While using it for a day, I appreciated it’s content organization and how it was sort of able to understand what you want to search and what other things you might be interested it.

Since I am using google from the time I learned about Internet, I am used to it’s interface and way of displaying content. It’s like a part of life. Using something very different for the first time, made me hate it for sometime, but later when I understood how they are unique I started appreciating their effort in not thinking like Google is the end and trying to make something new and also logical. No one knows, if it’s the next Google, all I know is I liked it, but won’t use it anytime soon, atleast not until the big world of Google dies.

What’s so special about Cuil?

  • They say, they have larger indexed pages than Google. No way to prove it since Google has not mentioned it’s number since last few years.
  • Cuil does not gather user search information and hence offer better privacy.
  • They say they analyse the keywords and display related searches and additional information in a very advanced way rather than depending on Links & other things. This I don’t agree. Well it dosen’t matter If I agree or not, but this is my blog and so my opinion matters. When you make a search on Cuil, based on the keyword they display on right additional information which is based on what you are searching. The data can be used for more refined search and to get more information. Though this idea seems great, but based on my experience of using Google from last 6 years, their algorithms have 99% times given me the results which I wanted. If someone is saying they are better than Google, then I assume they think they can deliver 100% relevant results, and If they are not, they should find more money to keep their business running.

As I am a FAN of Google, I would say based on my experience, unlike other search engine companies of the past, Google always keeps on working to make their Search the best. They care about their users and that is why the users love Google. Humans get attached to all things. Google users have a relation with Google, just the same way some great people still use MSN Live search even if it gives the worst results.

So at the end it means, Cuil is something new and exciting, but won’t have much or say any effect on Google. Google would continue to be the Search Engine I use, until something similar to IPhone in the market of mobile phones comes in Search world. But until then, It’s Google which I would continue to love. (Mostly becomes it gives me clients)

Why am I still here?

Am writing a post after really long. Had written few drafts on interesting development on web design, HTML 5 and CSS3, but they remained just drafts due to my bad health and too many things going on in my life and my mind.

There are very few people who read this blog few of them being my close friends and clients and rest people from my industry who end up on this site from search engines.

Am currently in a very calm state of mind hence thinking very clearly after very long time. Maybe thinking so clearly for first time.

This is would be a very honest attempt from me to write down that too on my blog.
I had quit my Architecture studies since I could not wait any longer to start my business. I loved Architecture and still love. It would remain my life long passion. I still justify my decision of leaving studies and never regret the decision. But I have started regretting what I did after that.

Unlike many other people, I was never a practical person. I was not afraid to dream bigger than my means or skills. I am overly optimistic person. All this has still not changed. I still think the same.

The only realization I have had, is that achieving my impossible dreams which some would laugh at is still possible for many using my plans but they are not possible to achieve by me.
Am just built differently and weirdly. I sometimes consider myself a loser sometimes I dont. Whatever I think of myself, am still in a loser category by world’s standards.
For me to achieve my own dreams, I would have to break myself, and rebuild myself into something new. I might lose who I truly am in the process, but it dosent matter anymore. The only thing that matters to have always been my dreams, and to make them true, I have to change myself now.

I have written this, to first accept am a loser, and then to have this as a reminder to come back to this every week to see if am same or changing.

I dont believe in luck, but I do wish myself all the good luck!
